REDITEC
Welcome to REDITEC, digital resources web for supporting education of Structural Geology and Tectonics at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
REDITEC comes from a IEQ Project (Improvement of Edcational Quality at the catalan universities) of the Generalitat de Catalunya. This project is directed to the creation of education innovational resources in the subjects of Structural Geology, Geotectonics, Rock Mechanics and Endogena Field Trip from the UAB Geology degree.
REDITEC is made of:
- an image database of geological structures, with related information.
- virtual field trips to concrete zones.
- web-based exercices.
The aims are:
- Adapting graphic format used by Structural Geology and Tectonics teaching to new technologies.
- Developing observation aptitude, identification and information synthesis of natural geological structures.
- Promoting students analysis capability through self-instruction methods.

REDITEC image database was created for UAB teaching support. However, the author's intention is make it available in the web to be used by anyone interested in Earth's Science didactics from any other school.
Database has an overall of XXX images, classified by different kinds of structures and geographical places. Anyone can access the images by the browser, which locates name and keyword inside the explaining texts.
